card #2 for less is more

March 1, 2011

While blog hopping through all the entries for this weeks Less is More I got so inspired by some of the techniques being used I just had to have another go.

This challenge blog has totally got me hooked and all the crafters are so friendly with constructive critism that you can’t help but improve in the skills of CAS cards.

A big thank you to Chrissie and Mandi for starting this wonderful blog.

Well here is my 2nd card of the week:

P1060658_edited-1

For this card I have done some masking with 3 3cm squares and some torn paper for the edges.

I inked over the masking with Pretty Color pigment stamp pad and a sponge. this is a 5 colour ink pad that my children have totally destroyed with there stamping but is great for sponging with.

The flower stamp is a large border stamp from Whispers that i got in a set when i first started stamping a few years ago and i haven’t used it in ages.  I have coloured it with watercolour pencils.

squares are bordered with a journaling pen.

Sentiment: Lizzie Anne Designs – Simply Sentiments.

I know what you mean about the LIM challenge blog – such a nice friendly supportive bunch of creatives, and yes people do make constructive suggestions and this makes you want to go back and do it over, whilst we need to make sure we are not being overcritical with ourselves- this approach is making me a better crafter – and thats a good thing – there are some fabulous cards out there in the blogosphere that sometimes you think would be better if they just had a little less frou frou bling and focussed on the core stamp/image design, so I think the girls are on to an obvious gap in the market. Great card, and I am glad you are happier with your second attempt… I have so many LIM cards now that end up in the bin just at the last critical moment I stamp a sentiment wrong or get an inky finger on them LOL
